The
2008 Addington Family Reunion was held on July
25 and 26 in Blairsville GA
We had another great reunion, this year in
Blairsville,
Georgia.
On July 25th, the Friday night social was held in Union County Bank's
community room, with sixteen Addington relatives attending.
Saturday morning at Ivy
Log
Baptist Church
began with registration at 9:00 a.m.
Attendees joined or renewed memberships, and visited with one another,
sharing picture albums and memories.
Evelyn Everett Payne was the MC and spoke about the Dahlonega Gold Rush and how
tours used to be allowed.
David V. Addington then shared information about some photos and family
documents he has collected.
Wayne and Anna Gray Huffman, who'd traveled from
Herndon, Virginia accepted the award for traveling the
furthest.
The oldest attendee was 93-year old Doyle Fortenberry, son of
James William and Maggie R. Addington Fortenberry. Chelsea
Daniels, as the youngest there, was given a book “Pudding Lane
People” by Sarah Addington. Following the meeting, everyone adjourned to the church steps
for the Reunion picture.
